PRESS RELEASE
11 November 2004

East of England businesses urged to share top tips for generating ideas

In celebration of Enterprise Week (15 – 21 November), the East of England Development Agency (EEDA) is urging business people across the region to take part in its new website survey.  It is designed to discover just how and when the region’s best business ideas are generated and which renowned entrepreneurs are inspiring our region’s business leaders the most.

The survey forms part of EEDA’s ‘space for ideas’ campaign and coincides with the launch of its new Ideas Centre – an online resource for business people requiring inspiration and information on having ideas to create business success.

A report on the survey findings will be published on the website www.spaceforideas.uk.com
in early 2005. The information gathered will be used to promote the region and may generate opportunities and increased exposure for the businesses that take part.

The website survey follows research commissioned by EEDA earlier this year, where it was discovered that people have their best ideas in bed rather than at work, sparking notions that perhaps beds should be installed in the workplace! The main aims of the ‘space for ideas’ campaign are to help businesses reach their full potential and highlight the business success in the region.

Charles Kitchin, EEDA Regional Marketing Manager, said: “The launch of the Ideas Centre and the Ideas survey are designed to encourage reciprocal communication between the space for ideas campaign and regional businesses. The Ideas Centre is for business people looking for inspiration and top tips on idea generation; while the website Ideas survey allows businesses to tell us about how they are having and encouraging ideas.”

Please visit www.spaceforideas.uk.com to take part in the survey.  It only takes a few minutes to complete and participants will be entered into a draw to win a state-of-the-art biOrb fish bowl, worth £100, designed and manufactured by the award-winning Norwich-based company, Reef One.
